Visit the church with the coffin of the founder.
Walk along the cobblestone streets.
The tour will begin with a panoramic of the city of La Coruna by bus. Once we leave the port we will head to the promenade that surrounds all the coastline of the city. On the way we will see the "galleries", sited in front of the harbour that gives the name to La Coruna as "The Crystal City”, due to the hundreds of windows these houses have. Time ago the sea was nearer to the city and these windows reflected the sunlight on top of the surface of the sea.
At the promenade - the longest in Europe that surrounds most of Coruna’s coastline – we will pass the Castle of San Anton, built on an island; first it was the local fortress, and nowadays is the archaeological museum and it’s connected to the city by a stretch road.
Next we will arrive at the Tower of Hercules; this beacon built by the romans is the only lighthouse in the world of his kind that is still working for it’s original purposes. As the most important monument of the city, it’s part of the coat of arms of La Coruna, together with the bones of Gerion, a giant that was killed by Hercules and buried under the beacon.
Drive at Betanzos, one of the capitals of the Old Galician Kingdom that was declared a historical and artistic monument in 1970, we will take a walk through his narrow streets taking a look to the typical old houses; ending at the top of the hill at the Church of San Francisco, gothic from the 14th century where we will find the tomb of Fernan Perez de Andrade, medieval knight; whose coffin, which is inside this church, is on top of the figures of a boar and a bear, which where his coat of arms. Enjoy some free time on your own.
