Join a hike where you learn more about everyday life here and hear stories about the mountains, the fjords, and the small villages along Hjørundfjorden. See snowcapped peaks if you visit in the springtime. In the summer and fall, visit a traditional shieling – a shepherd’s shelter – and the village’s summer grazing meadows. On this hike, you’ll learn about Norway’s farming history up close.
Practical information
Remarks/requirements:Backpack with water bottle, extra clothing, sunglasses recommended. Comfortable walking shoes or hiking boots recommended. Participants should be in good health.
Walking information:This hike can be up to 7km, along a gravel road. The first portion of the walk is uphill. Alternative shorter hikes in the area may be arranged.
