Enjoy a scenic drive through the countryside.
Visit the wild side of Chiapas.
From your ship’s pier you will travel to the small village of Talquian, the last town before getting to the Tacana hiking route. The Tacana volcano the highest peak in Central America (4060 m), lies right on the border between Mexico and Guatemala, and was a sacred place for the Maya, who believed the Gods gave the gift of corn to humankind right in this place. Your guide will lead you through the path uphill while showing you the local flora and fauna of this rainforest and perhaps meet some of the locals on their way from Guatemala to Mexico since this is still a trading route for the local villages. After about an hour and 15 minutes hike, you will head back to the bottom of the hill where your transportation is waiting for you to take you to a restaurant in order to have a delicious meal and gain back strength.
