On this guided tour and boat ride, venture deep into the jungle to discover the ancient metropolis of Lamanai.

  • Watch for crocodiles and listen for howler monkeys on a boat ride up the New River, deep into the jungle.


Into the jungle 

Your tour begins with a transfer of around an hour, and along the way, you’ll learn about Belize’s rich cultural and ecological heritage with the help of your knowledgeable guide. 

You’ll then embark on a 26-mile boat trip up the meandering New River deep into the jungle. Listen out for the call of howler monkeys and the flutter of tropical birds. As we arrive at the magnificent Lamanai ruins, you’ll enjoy lunch followed by a guided tour.

  • Included: Lunch 

  • Remarks/requirements: Please dress according to the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, water and insect repellant are recommended. Note: climbing the ruins is not allowed during or after rain because of slippery steps. The minimum age for this tour is 4 years old.  

  • Walking or Activity information: Involves physical activity on uneven surface and/or steep terrain. Not suitable if you have limited mobility. Includes approx. 1 hr 30 mins of walking and standing. 

  • Wheelchair accessible: No
