Day 1: Arrival in San José
After arrival and check in at your hotel, you can rest and enjoy your hotel facilities. Or explore San José at your leisure – there are plenty of things to see and do in this buzzing city.
Day 2: To La Fortuna
After breakfast, you'll be met by your local guide who will accompany you to La Fortuna. You'll enjoy a tour of La Paz Waterfall Gardens along the way. The rainbow-filled walking trails lead to orchid, butterfly and hummingbird gardens. You'll see jaguars and pumas too. After lunch, you'll be taken to your hotel, set among Costa Rica’s largest network of hot springs. Enjoy dinner at your hotel.
Day 3: A river trip and Arenal Hanging Bridges
This morning, you'll take a quiet boat trip into the rainforest along the Peñas Blancas River. Your guide will help you spot monkeys, sloths, iguanas, crocodiles and birds. After lunch, we'll visit the Arenal Hanging Bridges. We'll follow a 3 km trail through the rainforest along 15 hanging bridges across the nature reserve. You’ll get a 360°, multi-level view of the jungle. If it's clear, you’ll also have amazing views of the volcano.
Day 4: La Fortuna/Arenal Volcano Area/Puntarenas
After a leisurely breakfast, spend the morning enjoying the tropical nature reserve of your hotel grounds. Or visit the many hot springs for a relaxing dip. After lunch, we'll collect you and travel to Puntarenas Pier where your expedition ship will be waiting.
Please note that we sometimes visit sites in a different order.

Tour starts three days prior to embarkation in Puntarenas.
This tour is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.
Minimum number of participants: 10.
If the minimum number of participants is not reached, we reserve the right to cancel the land adventure up to 6 weeks before departure.
