Enjoy the beautiful peaceful surroundings on a historic hike towards Bondhus Lake
  • Marvellous scenic roads.

  • Peaceful & serene Bondhus Lake.

  • View of Bondhusbreen, glacier arm of the Folgefonna Glacier.

  • Hike along the “ice road”.

This excursion will take you from beautiful Rosendal on a scenic road along the fjords to Sunndal. After experiencing this fantastic view, you will arrive at the trail and start the hike tow Bondhus Lake. This historic trail was created in 1822 as the so-called “ice road”. The name derives from its original purpose – the transport of ice from the Folgefanna, which was needed for the conservation of food items. At the Bondhus Lake you will have the opportunity to take in the astonishing view of the surrounding fjords, glaciers, waterfalls and the peaceful lake.
