Culture and history  

Our tour starts in Lerwick, where you can see the historic town hall with its beautiful stained glass windows. We continue to Scalloway to see the now roofless castle which was built around 1600 by the tyrant Earl Patrick Stewart. Then travelling through the Tingwall Valley, you’ll meet a herd of Shetland Ponies before visiting the Shetland Jewellery workshop.

  • Remarks/requirements: Warm and waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear is recommended. 

  • Walking information: Walking at Scalloway– at guests’ discretion.  Some uneven ground and steps.

  • Wheelchair accessible: No.
