Exploring Castro
Your tour begins with a short walk from the pier to Plaza de Armas. Here you’ll find the Neo-Gothic Church of San Francisco, the city’s main Catholic church. This striking wooden church with a vibrant yellow façade contrasts with the island's typical style and is a UNESCO-listed site. We’ll then continue to the Plazoleta de Gamboa to enjoy the panoramic views of the local palafitos, or stilt houses.
A walk downhill brings us to the rich handicraft market where you can shop and admire the local artisanal work before your tour ends back at the pier.
