Walk meandering trails and look out for monkeys and exotic birds on a guided tour of Curú Wildlife Refuge.
  • Enjoy a guided walk through the lush reserve, looking out for wildlife such as monkeys, agoutis or coatis.

  • Scout for colourful birdlife such as parrots, woodpeckers, tanagers, hummingbirds and honeycreepers.

  • Revel in the sights and sounds of the forest and enjoy great photo opportunities.


Colourful Curú 

Your naturalist guide will meet you at the beach to begin your wildlife walk through the lush green forests and mangroves, brimming with life. 

As you explore, look out for the colourful flashes of macaws and the gentle flutters of hummingbirds, and listen for the unmistakable sound of the woodpecker. The reserve is also home to monkey species such as Howler, White-throated, Capuchin and Spider monkeys, so be on the lookout for these endearing creatures.

Practical information

  • Remarks/requirements: Please wear light, fast-dry clothing and closed toe hiking shoes. Sunscreen, a hat, insect repellent and binoculars are recommended.  

  • Walking or Activity information: Involves moderate physical activity on relatively level surfaces and gentle terrain, including dirt and gravel paths with an incline of 10-15%. Over one mile of walking.  

  • Wheelchair accessible: No 

  • Language availability: English
