Considered one of the best gardens in the world, Powerscourt Gardens is nestled in the picturesque Wicklow Mountains. On your tour here, you can explore these exquisite surroundings at your own leisurely pace. 

Explore the intricately manicured Italian Garden set against the backdrop of the mighty Sugar Loaf Mountain, and drink in the sights and smells as you admire of the exotic plants in the lush Japanese Garden. In the Walled Garden, you’ll find Ireland’s longest herbaceous border, as well as charming water features, each with a story to tell. 

Practical information

  • Remarks/requirements: Powerscourt House does not offer interior visits, but you can enjoy the Avoca Shop and Terrace Café.  Journey time to/from approx. 45mins-1 hour. 

  • Walking or Activity information: Involves moderate physical activity on relatively level surfaces and gentle terrain. There are various walking routes available to suit all interests. At the Japanese Garden and the Italian Garden there are several steps and uneven paths.  

  • Wheelchair accessible: Yes – but limited access to the garden due to uneven paths, steps and loose gravel.   

  • Language Availability: English
