War, Whisky and a Viking Cathedral  

On a visit to Highland Park Distillery, taste their award-winning whiskies and see how it’s made. Then you’ll visit the beautiful 12th-century St. Magnus Cathedral built by the Vikings during their 700-year rule over the islands. Finally, see the iconic Churchill Barriers, causeways built to protect the British Fleet anchored in the strategic Scapa Flow during WWII.

Practical information

  • Included: Tasting at Highland Park Distillery. 

  • Remarks/requirements: Appropriate clothing and comfortable walking shoes. 

  • Walking information: No long stretches of walking involved.  Distillery tour can be missed by individual if they prefer (guests watch a small video which shows the process).  Around 1-hour total walking (at discretion of visitor). 

  • Wheelchair accessible: No.
