Go puffin watching around Heimaey Island and explore its caves and lava formations from small expedition boats. 
  • Enjoy a ride in a small expedition boat and see the highlights around Heimaey Island

  • Visit Stakkabót, where you’ll be able to see thousands of puffins flying and splashing into the sea

  • See the spectacular Kafhellir cave, where the sunlight appears to shine from underneath the island


A cave and wildlife adventure   

Orcas and whales often swim in these waters – as well as dolphins and porpoises – so keep an eye out! We’ll visit sea caves and even explore a few on this excursion. You’ll see amazing lava shapes created by a volcanic eruption here in 1973. Then you’ll get close to a big puffin colony in Stakkabót and see thousands of these unusual birds.
