As we leave Iquique behind to begin our tour, you’ll be treated to magnificent panoramic views of the city, its stunning beaches and the ridge of Cerro Dragón (Dragon Hill).
We’ll continue through the indescribable Atacama Desert to reach the ghost towns of Santa Laura and Humberstone. You’ll explore these abandoned towns which lie seemingly frozen in time. Learn about the saltpetre refineries here and hear their history.
Practical information
Included: One bottle of water per person.
Remarks/requirements: Please wear lightweight, comfortable clothing, and bring sunscreen, a hat and sunglasses. Transfer time is approx. 1 hour each way.
Walking or Activity information: Involves physical activity on uneven surfaces and/or steep terrain. Not suitable if you have limited mobility. Includes approx. one mile of walking, and long periods of standing and walking under the sun.
