Set on St Patrick’s Isle which juts out from the coastline, the impressive Peel Castle is steeped in Viking heritage. Explore St Patrick’s Church, located in the 11th century round tower, and drink in the panoramic views across the Irish Sea.
At nearby House of Manannan, visit the heritage centre where atmospheric stories bring Manx history to life, from Celtic roots to Viking trading post and bustling fishing port.
Before getting back on the ship, why not try a Manx kipper or enjoy a sweet treat at Davisons Ice Cream Parlour.
Practical information
Remarks/requirements: Please wear comfortable walking shoes, warm layers and a waterproof coat.
Walking or Activity information: Involves moderate physical activity on relatively level surfaces and gentle terrain. There is approx. 0.6 miles of walking to visit both sites. A small minibus shuttle may be available.
Wheelchair accessible: The House of Manannan is wheelchair accessible and has lifts on site. Peel Castle is not wheelchair accessible.
