Embark on a boat trip at one of the most beatiful waterways in the world; The Telemark Canal.
  • Panoramic drive and beautiful scenery between Kragerø and Telemark.

  • Witness the Telemark Canal from the deck of one of the historical canal boats.

  • Experience the waterlock chambers as they were used more than hundred years ago.

  • Sail through Vrangfoss Locks, the largest lock of the canal with 5 chambers.

When the Telemark Canal was completed in 1892, there was a continuous waterway from the coast to the inner part of Telemark. With 18 Locks it lifts the boats from 0 to 72 metres above sea level. In European travel manuals the canal was talked about as one of the "eight wonders of the world" when it was finished. On today's tour you will get the chance to sail on one of the historic Canal boats from Hogga Locks to Vrangfoss Locks.

Begin your journey with a panoramic drive through the beautiful Telemark landscape. At Hogga board the M/S Victoria and cruise through the canal landscape to Vrangfoss, the largest lock with 5 chambers. Enjoy some free time before your return journey.
