Copper River Delta 

The Copper River Delta is a diverse ecosystem that’s abundant with wildlife. The delta is a crucial stopover for migrating birds and the temperate rainforest teems with life.  

Hike through this diverse and rich region, traversing the wetlands and coastal rainforest on your way to view the colossal river delta. Learn about the wildlife and the extensive human history of the Copper River, and gain insight into this unique ecosystem.   

Practical information

  • Remarks/requirements: Please dress according to the weather and wear comfortable walking or hiking shoes. A day pack and waterproof layers are recommended.  Water is provided but guests must bring reusable water bottle.

  • Language: English 

  • Walking information: Involves 1.6 miles of hiking on trails rated as moderate in difficulty with over 100 ft of elevation gain. Parts are uneven and include stairs and single plank boardwalks of approx. 8 inches wide. Not suitable if you have limited mobility.

  • Wheelchair accessible: No
