The ancient city
This tour takes you to the ancient city of Chan Chan, the former capital of the Chimú Empire. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is remarkably well preserved, and at nearly eight square miles, it’s the largest pre-Columbian city in the Americas.
From here, we’ll head to Trujillo. Peru’s third-largest city retains much of its colonial charm, and as we explore, you’ll discover the pleasant Plaza de Armas, where the main cathedral and town hall stand.
