Leave the pier to drive towards Herradura bay, where pirates and buccaneers anchored like the well-known Francis Drake. After a short visit with proper explanations, continue towards Guayacán church, a place that once held the world’s largest copper smelting plant (1850) and take a look to its very unique metal church designed and made in 1889 at the Eiffel factory in France.  

Continue towards the English Cemetery (1850).  A very interesting place that represents an important testimony of the English pioneers and sailors that arrived to the region during the mining boom by 1825. Old gravestone and crosses were brought from Europe. 

Back on the bus, drive to the Sailor’s Monument viewpoint. Located on a hill offers  wonderful views of La Herradura bay and neighboring areas. Here you have to climb about 70 steps to reach the top of the monument. 

Continue your drive towards the English neighborhood. At this point start your short walking tour through this recovered area. Walk by the main commercial streets surrounded by old houses built by the immigrants during the mid XIX century. These architectural patrimony has been restored so you may feel the ambience among which most of the shipping activities took place surrounded by antique houses with balconies and corridors, all built by English carpenters. 

Finally drive to Fort Lambert, the last stop showing the English evidence on the tour. This place was built by Charles Lambert, a prosperous miner, to protect his stock and mining supplies from pirate attacks. Enjoy wonderful views along with a fresh juice before driving back to the pier.
