Hike from Cidade Velha through the Calabaceira Valley.
Visit the São Filipe Fortress.
Departure from the pier to Cidade Velha. Enjoy a panoramic drive towards Cidade Velha, the first capital of Cape Verde, located on the opposite side of the island. Here, we’ll visit the São Filipe Fortress, built upon orders from Philip I, King of Portugal and Spain. After the visit, we’ll walk by Rua Banana, where you can see old stone houses and visit a local handicraft shop.You will also visit the Pelourinho, a monument to the history of slavery and the slave trade.
The most active part of our tour comes as we walk along the valley of Calabaceira for about two hours with some amazing views. We finish with a visit to the fortress and then drive back to the pier.

Walking information: Irregular terrain. Short walk in the city and the fortress on cobblestone and uneven surfaces.
