This tour is a fantastic chance to learn about the history of Cape Verde and to get the feel of the gorgeous Santiago Island and its traditions.
Departing from Port of Praia in the Cidade Velha, you will visit the São Filipe Fortress, built on the orders of Philip I, King of Portugal and Spain.
Here in the village, you will also visit the Pelourinho, a monument to the history of slavery and the slave trade. On the main square, you will have time to grab a refreshment on your own. Before heading back, you will pass by Rua Banana to see old stone houses and visit a local handicraft shop. Enjoy free time to stroll around and relax with views of the ocean from the beach – or from a local bar.
