Swan lake
Visit the park established as a vegetable garden by the first Countess of Ilchester in 1765. During the restoration after the great storm of 1990, many new exotic and unusual plants were introduced, creating a subtropical garden. Continuing to the Abbotsbury Swannery, you can walk through a nesting colony of mute swans and perhaps even see fluffy cygnets hatching in nests near the pathways.
