Viking history hike
Starting in the ancient settlement of Chapeltown, you’ll visit Chapel Hill, Balladoole, and hike along a section of the Raad ny Foillan, the Isle of Man’s coastal footpath. You’ll see coastal birds, local plants, limestone outcrops and volcanic rocks before we return to Castletown. Discover the ruins of ancient forts and chapels, Bronze Age burial sites, an Iron Age hillfort, and a Viking ship burial.

Remarks/requirements: Warm, waterproof clothing appropriate for the day’s weather should be worn; make sure to carry water and wear sturdy footwear (boots or tennis shoes / sneakers) with thick soles and ankle support. Walking poles may be helpful.
