This tour starts with a panoramic drive along the Apaneca mountain range, where some of the best coffee of El Salvador is harvested. You will arrive to Chachuapa, an area inhabited by Olmecs, Mayas, Pipiles, and Spaniards. Visit the pyramid of Tazumal and the museum. It is the largest pyramid in the country, and holds interesting insight into the Maya’s construction methods. Then visit the city of Santa Ana, where you will enjoy a private folkloric presentation in the famous Santa Ana National Theater, built during the golden era of the coffee in El Salvador. It continues to be a town landmark. Enjoy free time in the handicraft market.
Upon return, enjoy the panoramic drive on the Coatepeque-Cerro Verde road, with beautiful views of Coatepeque Lake, Izalco, and Santa Ana volcano. Your final destination is Acajutla.
