History of this once-forgotten gem in Northern Ireland
Fully guided tour
Watch for fish and local wildlife.
Make your way to the Gobbins Cliff Path, a spectacular location with an unbelievable history. For years, this hidden gem in Northern Ireland was forgotten, until now.
Upon arrival at the visitor’s center, you’ll meet your expert guide and complete your safety briefing before embarking on the fully guided coastal walk. This isn’t just any coastal walk. The Gobbins Experience takes you along a narrow, exciting path that hugs the dramatic cliff face. Its bridges stand above the crashing waves of the North Channel and its rugged staircases are carved into the cliff face, leading you into caves that were once home to smugglers and privateers. This is a coastal path for adventurers.
What makes this even more special is that it was first created in 1902, making it a feat of brilliant engineering. The path itself has a long history, having lay dormant in the 1960s before its rebirth in recent years. This path has many stories to share. While your guide bring your journey to life through these tales, keep your eyes peeled for fish and local wildlife. If you’re lucky, you might spot puffins, guillemots, and razorbills. You’ll be walking along a natural environment that includes caves, cliffs, and ledges. This path gives you rare access to wildlife treasures. This is a truly thrilling experience unlike any other.
