Enjoy a guided tour visiting the Ring of Brodgar, beautiful landscape of the islands and the pretty fishing village of Stromnes
  • Visit ring of Brodgar.

  • Guided tour

  • Beautiful landscape of the islands.

  • Pretty fishing village of Stromness.

Depart Kirkwall and head into the west of Mainland, Orkney’s largest island. This tour passes through a gentle rolling landscape and into the Neolithic Heartland of Orkney—an area designated as a World Heritage Site due to its wealth of pre-historic archaeology. Passing the Standing Stones of Stenness, you will stop at the Ring of Brodgar—a huge ceremonial circle of stones dating back almost 5,000 years. We will enjoy a short stop here to explore this ancient monument and admire the landscape of the islands.

From here, we continue our adventure to the pretty fishing village of Stromness. After a briefing and orientation with our guide, we will have free time to explore the picturesque harbor in Stromness and stroll along the pretty flag-stoned street of this seafaring town. Why not visit the beautifully refurbished Pier Arts Centre with exhibitions by both local and international artists. You may also wish to explore the craft shops selling local knitwear, pottery and art work.

We will then return to your coach and continue this circular route following the coastline of Scapa Flow, made famous for its role in both World Wars.
