Explore the Tacana Volcano Trail.
Enjoy a scenic drive through the countryside.
Visit the wild side of Chiapas.
You will travel from the pier to the small village of Talquian, the last town before the Tacana Volcano Trail. The Tacana volcano is the highest peak in Central America (13,320 feet). It lies right on border between Mexico and Guatemala, and was a sacred place for the Maya, who believed it to be the place where the Gods gave the gift of corn to humankind. Your guide will lead you uphill while showing you the local flora and fauna of this rainforest. You may even meet some locals on their way from Guatemala to Mexico, since this is still a trading route for the local villages. After the hike, which lasts about 1 hour and 15 minutes, you will head back to the bottom. Your transfer will be waiting to take you to recharge your batteries with a delicious meal at a restaurant.
