Join a local fisher on a fishing trip in the waters around Lødingen and look out for sea eagles flying overhead.
  • Learn fishing techniques from a local expert

  • Get up close to nature and experience the raw elements

  • You will have the chance to see sea eagles

  • Enjoy an authentic and exclusive experience

After leaving the ship, you’ll meet the fisher at the pier Sjøvegen 18. Here, you will receive important equipment and information to help you stay safe during the trip. After putting on windproof coveralls and boarding the fisher’s boat, you’ll be ready to go fishing!

Enjoy the scenery as the boat drifts across clear waters. Listen carefully as the fisher shares useful techniques acquired through years of experience. Learn how to bait, hook, and reel in the fish in a truly hands-on experience. Experience the thrill of a successful catch and learn how to gut the fish. If you’re lucky, a hungry sea eagle might come looking for food from you.

A fishing trip with a local Lødingen fisher wouldn’t be complete without authentic local stories. The fisher will tell some of these along the way, giving you an insight into local culture and everyday life. These are stories that you won’t soon forget. In fact, you’ll probably want to share them with others when you return from your cruise.

After almost an hour of fishing, learning, and storytelling, you’ll return to the dock and take off your coveralls. There should still be some time for you to explore Lødingen before rejoining the ship.
