Watch for wildlife in the Amazon Rainforest and stay in a luxury eco-lodge in the heart of the jungle.
  • Enjoy a five-day Amazonian adventure exploring the Ecuadorian rainforest.

  • Spend three nights in a luxury eco-lodge in the heart of the Amazonian jungle.

  • Join included activities such as canoe trips, birding tours, treetop canopy trails and night walks.

  • Discover awe-inspiring nature, animals, birds and insects up close in the verdant rainforest.

Day 1: Arriving at Quito

You’ll travel from the Galápagos Islands to Quito, the historic capital of Ecuador, where your expedition cruise ends. We’ll meet you at the airport and take you to your airport hotel. You’ll have the rest of the day to spend as you please before your trip to Ecuador’s Amazon Rainforest begins in the morning.

Day 2: Your Amazon adventure begins in Coca

After a short, scenic flight over the Andes to Coca, you’ll enjoy a two-hour canoe ride down the Napo River, a tributary of the Amazon River. You’ll watch for herons, kingfishers, and more. Enjoy a short rainforest hike to Lake Pilchicocha, where you’ll be taken across the lake to your lodge by canoe. Enjoy a swim, do some birdwatching, or visit the butterfly house before dinner. Afterward, enjoy a night walk through the jungle to look for nocturnal species, or take a quiet canoe ride on the lake.

Days 3–4: Your rainforest eco-lodge

Your two-night stay in this luxury eco-lodge includes a range of amazing activities. Try birdwatching on a treetop canopy walk or visit clay licks, where colorful parrots congregate to eat clay cliff walls. Take a canoe ride through the peaceful swamps to spot anacondas, caimans and capybaras—and perhaps even fish for piranha! Or hike along the Napo River. Back at the lodge, relax with a refreshing dip in the lake or a gentle nap in your private hammock.

Day 5: Returning to Quito

After breakfast, it’s time to return to the modern world. You’ll take a canoe ride back to Coca and then a short flight back to Quito, where your Post-Program adventure comes to an end. We arrive in the early afternoon, so if you have time before your onward journey, we recommend exploring more of Ecuador’s beautiful and historic capital city, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Please note that we may visit sites in a different order.
