Planned Pre-Program itinerary

Day 1: Overnight in Reykjavík

Upon arriving in Iceland's capital, you'll check in to your hotel. If there's time, we recommend exploring the many things to see and do in this charming city.

Day 2: Reykjavík to Kerlingarfjöll

After breakfast, you'll begin your two-day tour of Kerlingarfjöll in the Highlands. We'll pass through dramatic landscapes on the way to our first tour stop: the Kerið Crater. You’ll see the steaming hot springs as we enter the Geysir Geothermal Area, where the stunning Strokkur geyser spouts. After lunch, we’ll head to the double cascades of Gullfoss, or “Golden Waterfall.” Then we'll drive up into the volcanic highlands for a cozy night at Highland Base Kerlingarfjöll, including dinner.

Day 3: Kerlingarfjöll

Today, you’ll have a chance to explore mini glaciers, steaming springs, and Arctic vegetation while hiking around Hveradalir in the Kerlingarfjll mountain range. It's full of colorful extremes, from pure white snow to shining black obsidian. Afterward, take time to enjoy a long soak in one of the natural baths just a short hike from Highland Base Kerlingarfjöll or the hotel's own hot bath. Back at the hotel, we’ll enjoy dinner and spend a second night.

Day 4: Return to Reykjavík

After breakfast, you'll visit the Secret Lagoon—created in 1891—for a dip in its warm spring waters. Next, we'll stop at Friðheimar tomato greenhouse for a fascinating glimpse into Icelandic agriculture and horse breeding. You’ll enjoy a tomato-themed lunch at their restaurant. The last stop on your tour is UNESCO-listed Thingvellir (Þingvellir) National Park, which has stunning views of the vast lava plain filled with wildflowers. Then we'll take you straight to the pier in Reykjavík in time for embarkation.

Please note that we may visit sites in a different order.
