  • Walk through Hugh Town, the capital of the Isles of Scilly.

  • Beautiful sandy beaches

  • Fantastic views

  • Pass by the vacation home of former Prime Minister, Harold Wilson.

Join your guide at St Mary’s quay before setting off on foot through Hugh Town, the capital of the Isles of Scilly. You will then head to the beautiful sandy beach and turquoise waters of Porthcressa Bay. Continue with a climb up Buzza Hill to admire a Bronze Age burial chamber and enjoy wonderful views over Hugh Town out to Samson, Bryher, and Tresco. See the 19th-century windmill tower before continuing toward Peninnis Head, taking in the ruins of the 18th-century Peninnis Mill and glorious views over the Western Rocks and the Bishop Rock Lighthouse, the last outpost of the British Isles.

At Peninnis Head, the southernmost point of St Mary’s and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, you will discover natural granite outcrops that have naturally eroded into spectacular and unusual shapes. See Peninnis Lighthouse on the tip of the headland, including views over St. Agnes, Gugh, and the seabird sanctuary of Annet.

Then it’s time to retrace your steps, back past the vacation home of former Prime Minister Harold Wilson, all while enjoying views of the harbor and the Old Quay (built in 1601) as you return to the quay for your tender back to the ship.
