Depart through Shetland’s capital, Lerwick, as you begin your trip to the Island of Mousa. En route, catch your first glimpse of the magnificent Mousa Broch, the tallest and best-preserved broch in the world.

At the small ferry port, transfer to the Solan IV boat for a short crossing to the Island of Mousa.

Mousa is an uninhabited island 1.5 miles long and 1 mile wide. Enjoy a guided walk across part of this island to admire beautiful scenery and wildlife, including seal and bird colonies. You can also spot common and grey seals, as well as Arctic terns and great skuas.

In addition to the abundant wildlife, Mousa is also home to Mousa Broch, an impressive Iron Age fortress tower which stands 43 feet high and is the best preserved of its type.
