Discover the Goierri region of the Basque Country, known as the ‘Basque Highlands’. Territory made up of small villages surrounded by nature. Pastures, sheep, and cows are abundant here. For centuries, they have been the economic engine of this rural region, which also has a powerful local industry.
Enjoy the tranquility of this rural area. Visit medieval villages (Ordizia and Segura) and taste the famous Idiazabal DO cheese at a small dairy farm, which will open its doors to show us how they make the cheese. Eneko Aramburu, the shepherd, will show us the Latxa sheep.
The visit will end with a tasting of Idiazabal cheese.
*While we're excited to share the unique flavors of this region with you, it’s important to note that allergy awareness and hygiene standards can vary widely across the world. The local community providing food for this tour may not be as familiar with allergy concerns or preparation standards as suppliers in your home country or the expert chefs onboard our ships.
