Historic city

The Royal Mile is a 1-mile and 107 yards processional route that links Edinburgh Castle at the top to the Palace of Holyrood house at the bottom. Your guided walk along the cobblestoned streets of the Royal Mile will take you past various buildings both old and new. During the walk, enjoy a visit to the majestic St Giles’ Cathedral.

  • Remarks/requirements: Appropriate clothing for inclement weather and comfortable walking shoes. 

  • Walking information: Approximately 2 Km.  Terrain is paved, some cobbles and kerbs.  The Royal Mile is on a gentle incline.
