The 1896 Cabin
A Night in the Heroic Age of Exploration
A rare experience exclusively for guests aboard MS Fridtjof Nansen in 2026, the 1896 Cabin offers a glimpse into how late 19th-century explorers lived – before hybrid propulsion, satellite navigation, and stabilised decks. Guests can spend a night surrounded by period furnishings and recreated atmospheric details, bringing this heroic age of exploration to life.
A Taste of 130 Years
Heritage Flavours, Reimagined
Throughout 2026, we’re offering a special menu inspired by our Norwegian heritage. Dishes draw from the fjords and forests that sustained early voyages — cured Arctic char, traditional lamb stew scented with spruce, cod with dill beurre blanc, and the Queen’s kvæfjordkake with cloudberry.
Available at two of our restaurants, Aune and Lindstrøm, once per voyage.
Wine Shaped at Sea
From the family-run Weingut Regele vineyard (est. 1830), this Austrian fortified Zweigelt shows deep ruby colour, rich yet fresh tannins, and notes of plum, dark berries, dried fruit, spice, and tobacco.
This year, it travels pole to pole aboard our ships, shaped by shifting climates and constant ocean motion; a journey expected to deepen its complexity.
