The lights in the sky have occurred since the dawn of our planet. Dinosaurs walked under them, just as we do today. They are a constant of our world – always there, even when it’s too bright for us to see them. But what are they and how are they created?

The population of Svalbard is approximately 2500. Longyearbyen is the largest settlement in the islands and is also the seat of the governor. It's a colourful modern town with first-class facilities, like excellent hotels and restaurants, regular flight connections to mainland Norway, as well as an impressive range of activities to suit every traveller.

The Arctic Circle is the only place in the world where you can see this magnificent creature in its natural habitat.

In the northernmost part of the world, where the ice is thick and the air is cold, there lives a creature. Laying your eyes on a polar bear is just an adventure away.
